The African Lion Safari in Cambridge is one of two Ontario zoos accused of ignoring global guidelines by allowing visitors to get up close and personal with wildlife.
In a report by the international advocacy group, World Animal Protection, it names the park along with Jungle Cat World in Orono as two offenders who disregard the suggested rules.
The guidelines are set by the World Association for Zoos and Aquariums which says allowing guests to interact with wildlife put animals and visitors at risk.
World Animal Protection cites African Lion Safari for its elephant rides.
It was just over a month ago, a worker at the park was attacked by an elephant.
Few details have been released about the incident now under investigation by the Ministry of Labour.
