It's a good thing Canada's new national public alert system is being tested before it's needed, because things have not been going as planned so far.
The system was tested in Quebec and Ontario today, with problems reported in both provinces.
A glitch in the system meant mobile users in Quebec didn't receive the alerts as scheduled in the morning.
In Ontario, many Rogers subscribers reported getting the alert at the proper time, but Telus, Bell and other users did not.
More testing in areas outside Ontario and Quebec is planned for Wednesday.
