The Niagara Peninsula Conservation Authority announcing its restricting public access to Lake Niapenco.
The moves comes after an algae bloom was found in the lake in the Binbrook Conservation Area.
The bloom contains a bacteria that can be harmful to animals and humans.
The NPCA says the lake will be closed to the public until it gets the all clear from Hamilton Public Health.
The conservation area's splash pad remains open.
