All 17 dogs rescued from the Korean Meat Trade and brought to St. Catharines have been adopted.
Last month the Lincoln County Humane Society, working with Humane Society International, recieved 17 dogs rescued from the Korean Meat Trade.
The Humane Society International was able to save more than 200 dogs and bring them to Canada, the U.K, United States, and the Netherlands to find furever homes.
This was the 13th dog meat farm in South Korea HSI has been able to shut down.
Lincoln County Humane Society Executive Director Kevin Strooband says that while some of the dogs are still at the shelter, they have been adopted and will go home by the end of the week.
These dogs will have gone from living in barren metal cages, many suffering from painful sores, malnourishment, and skin diseases, to living happy lives with families.
