Canadian Border Services is announcing the seizure of almost 50 kilograms of suspected cocaine at the Queenston-Lewiston Bridge.
On November 19th, 54 year old Omari Kutaladze of Toronto was driving a tractor trailer hauling a load of plastic resin pellets. When he arrived at the border crossing, the border services officer stopped him for a secondary examination.
A canine team searched the truck, discovering 50 packages of suspected cocaine concealed inside several cardboard boxes of plastic pellets. The evidence was turned over to the RCMP.
The RCMP have now charged Kutaladze with importation of a controlled substance and possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking.
