The dad involved in an Amber Alert yesterday is speaking out.
Soloman Jaffri issued a Facebook post saying he understands that police were fulfilling their duties by issuing the Amber Alert but he is completely innocent.
His statement calls the incident yesterday "unfortunate" and says the worst possible picture of him was used when the bulletin was issued.
Police say they won't be laying charges against the father.
York regional police say the girl was found safe within about an hour of the bulletin going out across the province.
They say they issued the alert in part because they'd been told the father was not allowed to have access to his child, but says that information was incorrect.
The man was taken into police custody at the time officers found the girl, but was released later the same night.
