Andy Petrowski is back.
The controversial St. Catharines Regional Councillor made an appearance at Council last night, but only stayed for 30 minutes.
Petrowski tells CKTB he didn't stay for the entire meeting because it was a last minute decision to show up and he wasn't prepared to debate committee information.
He intends to be back attending Council meetings in September and he says he will also be back at the committees and subcommittees he participates in.
Petrowski took a personal leave of absence at the end of May after a picture of a naked woman with her legs spread open was sent out from his government issued email account.
On June 8th, councillors voted to suspend him from serving in his appointed capacity at committees, and that he also undertakes sensitivity training.
Petrowski says he has not attended sensitivity training and will not be apologizing.
He calls the motion perverted.
He says the requests that he attends sensitivity training and apologizes violate the municipal act.
He calls the entire situation a witch hunt from the left, with a single goal to silence him because he is speaking the truth and embarrassing council members by exposing their wasteful spending.
He says instead of reporting stories on him, CKTB and other media agencies should be focusing on the important stories impacting residents.
Petrowski called CKTB fake news and did not want his voice to be recorded.
When asked if he sought out any kind of help while on his leave, he said no.
Petrowski says he will continue to fight for Niagara's taxpayers and ensuring tax dollars are not wasted.
Petrowski has been a lightening rod of controversy even prior to the pornographic email being sent.
He was subject to integrity commissioner complaints in both this term of council and in his previous term for various tweets, comments and complaints of bullying staff members.
