Two people have been convicted of animal cruelty in the case of a deceased dog that was severely neglected.
In November of 2017, the Lincoln County Humane Society received a deceased senior Yorkshire Terrier.
A post-mortem revealed that the dog suffered from emaciation and anemia which likely contributed to the dog’s death.
The dog had a severe flea infestation, severe dental disease, and had maggots present on its body.
As a result, 23 year old Tamara Ashley Burnham of Pennsylvania (formerly of St. Catharines) and her 44 year old mother Tammy Lee Burnham, of St. Catharines, have pleaded guilty to causing their dog, “Jacko”, to be in distress.
Both were placed on probation for one year and Tammy was ordered to pay the LCHS $694 in restitution.
