Which Regional Councillor spends the most on mileage in Niagara?
Excluding the Regional Chair the top regional councillor to bill for mileage year over year is Fort Erie's Sandy Annunziata.
In 2015 he billed taxpayers for $7,691.85 for mileage, in 2016 that figure actually decreased slightly to $6,190.33.
By comparison, in terms of travel distance being from Fort Erie, the town's Mayor Wayne Redekop billed $1,479.59 in 2015 and $2,083.11 in 2016.
Behind Annunziata in mileage billing is Grimsby's Tony Quirk who spent $5,100.55 in 2015 and $4,997.77 in 2016.
In comparing with travel distance, Grimsby's Mayor, Bob Bentley spent $2,119.76 and $2,223.35 respectively.
Annunziata came under fire earlier this year when it was revealed he billed taxpayers for more than $4,000 in mileage he accumulated while travelling to Toronto to appear on the Jerry Agar Show on Newstalk 1010, a radio station owned by CKTB's parent company Bell Media.
