The Mayor of Wainfleet is concerned after another weekend of inappropriate beach behaviour.
Kevin Gibson tells CKTB they have received 'many emails' from local residents complaining about beach behaviour and illegal parking.
Gibson says they have tried to be nice, but it's not working, so that's why police and by-law officers are now ticketing people.
He says while illegal parking can be easily enforced, physical distancing cannot.
Gibson says local residents are upset they can't access the beach because there is no parking, and the beach is too busy.
He says while port-a-potties are out, some beach goers are still relieving themselves outside.
Some Niagara beaches have decided to restrict access to outside residents.
Gibson says restricting access to the township's beaches would be tricky, but closing the beaches entirely is a possibility if unruly behaviour continues.
He says council will take a look at the issue once again.
