A lawyer for 22 year old Karim Baratov, the Ancaster man charged in connection with a Yahoo hacking scheme, says he will appeal a judge's ruling denying his client bail.
Amedeo DiCarlo says Baratov's legal team disagrees with the ruling.
Earlier this week, a Hamilton judge deemed Baratov a flight risk and remanded him into custody pending an extradition hearing to the U-S.
DiCarlo says the decison was based entirely on political motivation and no consideration of any evidence presented during the bail hearing.
The lawyer noting it was odd the judge made his decision the same day lawyers made their final submissions, suggesting the judge made the ruling prior to receiving all of the documents.
