Niagara police responded to a hold-up alarm at the Big Bee Convenience store on Lake Street in St. Catharines around midnight Saturday.
A man who tried to hide his indentity demanded cash from the clerk.
The supsect kept one of his hands in the front pouch of his hoodie and pointed what appeared to a weapon at the clerk.
A silent alarm was sounded and police arrived a few minutes later.
They set up a perimeter and with assistance of the K9 Unit, police located the supsect.
A search of his home later revealed he is wanted in connection three other robberies in the area last month.
Forty-five-year-old Thomas York of St Catharines is charged with four counts of robbery and four counts of disguised with intent.
