Police have made a quick arrest in a variety store holdup in St. Catharines.
Police were called to a convenience store on Merritt Street last night just before 8:30, after a man entered the store, confronted the lone female clerk and then fled with some cash.
With the help of the K9 unit and members of the public, police tracked the suspected to a nearby home.
Just over an hour later, 35 year old Glen Leal was arrested and charged with robbery and uttering threats.
The stolen loot was recovered.
