Two astronauts are said to be in good condition after aborting a mission due to an issue with the booster on their spacecraft.
American astronaut Nick Hague and Russian cosmonaut Alexey Ovchinin made an emergency landing this morning after a 4:40 a.m. Eastern time launch aboard a Russian Soyuz from the Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan.
The pair made a ballistic descent to return to Earth, which involves a sharper angle of landing than normal.
Both astronauts were transported to Dzhezkazgan, Kazakhstan where they were photographed sitting on a couch while undergoing tests.
NASA Administrator Jim Bridenstine released a statement saying he and the NASA team are carefully monitoring the situation and an investigation is underway.
