An elderly couple who met in grade school and recently celebrated their 75th wedding anniversary are among at least 17 people killed by raging wildfires in northern California.
Mike Rippey says his 100-year-old father and 98-year-old mother were overcome by smoke and flames in their home in Napa County.
Rippey says his mother didn't move well, and his parents were unable to get out before the blaze destroyed their home.
He says he and his siblings can't imagine either parent going on without the other.
