The father of a young boy is facing charges after police say he tried to abduct his son from school.
Witness report a man attempted to force a young boy away from an elementary school in Oakville yesterday morning around 8:40 a.m.
School staff and other parents stepped in, separating the man from the boy. The boy was not hurt.
When police arrived and arrested the man, they say they learned the man was trying to take his child in contravention of a Family Court Order restricting his access to the child.
Officials also report the man mistakenly grabbed another student at the school before finding his son.
The man now faces two counts of abduction in contravention of custody order, two counts of assault, and one count of disobeying a court order.
