A B-C Court of Appeal has ruled the RCMP went too far in its case against two people accused of trying to blow up the B-C legislature on July 1st of 2013.
A three-judge panel in Vancouver upheld a lower court ruling that stayed bomb-plot convictions against John Nuttall and former St.Catharines resident Amanda Korody.
The court says the couple was entrapped and manipulated by police.
The appeal panel ruling called the Mounties investigation a "travesty of justice" and that police "pushed and pushed the two defendants to come up with a workable plan.''
Nuttall and Korody remain free on bail and their lawyers are due back in provincial court January 7th to determine whether the pair pose a risk to the public.
