More than 1.4 million elderly Canadians say they feel lonely and the holidays can be one of the hardest times of the year for them.
For the past three years, Home Instead Senior Care runs a program called "Be a Santa to s Senior" which has helped nearly one thousand seniors in Niagara.
Once again the community is being asked to help by picking up an ornament containing a request for a gift at several locations in Niagara.
Daneille Cuoco with the local office says the requests vary from hats and gloves to dog treats for their pets.
You can then return the gift to the to the store with the ornament attached and community volunteers will wrap and deliver the gift to local seniors in time for the holidays.
