A suspect is in custody following an attempted murder in Grimsby.
Niagara police say just before 1 p.m. Saturday they were called to the area of Central Avenue and Lynnwood Avenue for a fight outside a home.
When they arrived police found a 41 year old woman suffering from serious stab wounds.
She was taken to an out of town hospital and is in serious but stable condition.
NRP say the investigation determined that the two men fighting were the suspect and a good Samaritan that came to the victim's aid.
70 year old Allan Timko from Beamsville has been arrested and charged with attempted murder.
