It's been a year since a startling image of Port Dalhousie's lighthouse emerged on social media.
Resident Bruce Leigh, who describes himself as an amateur photographer took the picture in early May after a rainstorm forced Lake Ontario water levels to rise drastically.
The image of the pier completely underwater and the spray painted lighthouse almost floating on top of the water was shared thousands of times.
He says the image has the most amount of shares he's ever had for a photo.
Niagara, including the Port Dalhousie area was then plagued by floods for the month of May and most of June.
The flooding closed the Lakeside park area and even delayed delayed the opening of the carousel and bandshell.
Leigh went back out to the site yesterday taking a new picture of the pier and lighthouse.
