Bell Canada says an anonymous hacking of its customer information is not related to the global ransomware attack.
The telecom giant says hackers accessed about 1.9 million customer email addresses and 1700 names and phone numbers.
Bell says it took immediate steps to secure affected systems and is working closely with RCMP investigators, but adds there's no indication that any financial, password or other sensitive personal information was accessed in the hack.
