Ontario boaters and paddlers are being urged to get NEXUS cards in case they cross the international boundary line while out on the water.
Sarnia Mayor Mike Bradley says people could now lose their boats or face fines if they cross the line but don't plan on landing in the U-S.
He says there are lots of recreational boaters who use the Great Lakes and it's an unnecessary restriction on them.
Bradley says he'll be raising the issue during a meeting with officials in Port Huron, Michigan and he hopes to gain their support to push for a better solution.
