Niagara Parks Police recovered a body from the Niagara Gorge yesterday after a hiker observed it floating in the rapids and called 911.
The Buffalo News reporting the body was discovered at about 1:38 p.m.
Parks patrol officers were assisted by firefighters who helped transport the body to a landing zone.
The Erie County Sheriff's Office Air One helicopter also responded and helped move the body from the gorge to Erie County Medical Center, where an autopsy is scheduled.
