A 47 year old Brampton man has pleaded guilty to cocaine smuggling charges in a Buffalo court.
Harinder Dhaliwal admitted to being part of a conspiracy that smuggled more than $120 million dollars worth of cocaine from the U-S into Canada via several of our international bridges between 2006 and 2011.
Over the course of the investigation, federal officials seized a total of 230 kilos of cocaine, some of it was discovered during a seizure at the Queenston Lewiston Bridge.
Dhaliwal is facing a sentence of life in prison plus a $10 million fine.
According to police, Dhaliwal and his co conspirators used tractor-trailers with false compartments in the floor to smuggle the drugs.
