The Brampton owner of a trucking firm will be spending the next 20 years behind bars.
47 year old Harinder Dhaliwal was sentenced in a U-S court for his role in a massive drug ring that saw three tonnes of cocaine smuggled into Canada worth an estimated $120 million.
Prosecutors telling the court Dhaliwal had fake compartments built into his fleet of trucks to smuggle the drugs.
Six others were also convicted in connection with the drug ring that smuggled 3,500 pounds of cocaine into Canada from late 2009 to September 2010.
More than 500 pounds of coke was recovered by customs officers in two busts, one of themĀ at the Queenston Lewiston Bridge.
