A Brantford man is facing several charges after Hamilton Police responded to reports of a stolen pick-up truck.
The owner of the truck called police on Saturday night around 7 p.m. to say his 2002 Chevrolet Silverado was stolen as he entered a store on Upper James Street.
As the thief was making his getaway, he reversed the truck into another parked vehicle.
On Sunday night, police were called about an abandoned truck in a ditch along Airport Road and East Cargo Road. The truck was reportedly heavily damaged and the engine was still running. Officers were also told a man had been banging on the door of a home in the area.
Police arrested a female suspect in the area without incident, but had to chase down a male suspect on foot. Officers say they found fentanyl in the man's possession.
The woman was later released, but the man, 24 year old Benjamin Curly, is now facing charges including possession of stolen property, four counts of failing to remain at the scene of a motor vehicle collision, and possession of a controlled substance.
