Now the clean up can begin.
Brantford residents are being allowed back bome, now that the risk of flooding from the Grand River is receding.
The evacuation order put in place Wednesday morning yesterday affected nearly 5,000 people.
The city has also lifted a state of emergency put in place the same day.
But officials still cautioning the curious to take extra care around all bodies of water because the banks of rivers and creeks remain extremely slippery.
MTO inspectors also giving the all clear to several bridges and roads along the Grand that were closed because of the flooding.
