An arrest has been made following an alleged sexual assault last week in St. Catharines.
Detectives arrested a man today in connection with the incident which occurred June 19th in the Hydro Hill trail area where a woman in her 70`s reported she had been thrown into a bush and assaulted.
Police say the man is also facing charges connected to an earlier incident of alleged harassment the day prior on Merritt Trail along 12 Mile Creek.
The two incidents involved two separate alleged victims.
29-year-old Jacob Clarke of no fixed address is facing charges of sexual assault causing bodily harm, sexual assault with a weapon or imitation weapon, forcible confinement and criminal Harassment.
Clarke is currently being held in custody pending a video bail hearing on Saturday June 27, 2020 at the John Sopinka Courthouse in the City of Hamilton.
