A 58 year old man has been charged following a shooting at a licensed marijuana grow op in Niagara Falls this week.
It was on Monday afternoon a 45 year old man called 911 reporting he had been shot at the rural operation in the area of Somerville Road and Willoughby Road.
He was rushed to an out of region hospital where he remains in serious condition.
Officers have arrested Frederick Roy Collette of Niagara Falls in connection to the shooting.
He is charged with discharge of a firearm, aggravated assault, administering a noxious substance, unlawful production of marijuana.
Collette will appear at a bail hearing today.
Police say when searching the property they located cannabis plants in various states of growth and the numbers of cannabis plants, the manner in which they were being grown and tended to did not comply with the licence for the property.
The plants have been seized.
