The cause of a deadly fire in Port Colborne has been determined.
Officials say the house fire at 53 Nickel Street, that killed four people last December was accidental.
Port Colborne Fire issuing a release saying the results of the investigation have determined the fire cause to be "accidental - misused ignition source/equipment improperly discharged".
The fire broke out early December 14th, killing a mother, her two young children and the woman's grandmother.
37 year old Tammy Burd, her children, 15-year-old old Samantha Zuvic and two-year-old Joshua Zuvic, and her grandmother died of smoke inhalation.
83 year old Eva Burd was pulled from the home but died.
Tammy Burd and her son were found in an upstairs bedroom, side by side.
Burd's daughter's body was recovered on the main floor of the home.
Burd's husband and an uncle, who also lived in the home, managed to escape the flames.
