A sheriff now says the shooter at a Maryland high school has died.
St. Mary's County Tim Cameron has told a media conference that the shooter and a school resource officer fired a round, and it wasn't knwon if the officer's bullet killed the suspect.
He went on to say a female and male student were also wounded during the shooting in a hallway at Great Mills High School.
The principal at the school told parents last month that the school had investigated possible threats and found the claims were 'not substantiated.'
Two students were interviewed by school officials in February after the pair were overheard mentioning a school shooting.
The school stepped up security after rumours of a possible school shooting continued to circulate on social media.
