Ontario has its first ‘presumptive positive’ case of coronavirus in Toronto.
Health Minister Christine Elliott says it’s a man in his 50’s who travelled to China.
He is now in stable condition in Sunnybrook hospital.
Ontario's Chief Medical Officer of Health Dr. David Williams says medical workers were aware of the patient’s travel history and took all precautions to prevent the spread of the virus.
He says there is little danger to the public.
The patient is being treated in a “negative pressure” room at the hospital.
The man flew out of China and arrived back in Toronto on January 22nd.
Once in Toronto, he felt unwell and 911 was called.
It’s believed paramedics were fully protected when they responded to his call.
