Classes capped at 15 students, and the same teacher all day.
That's what Ontario's children can expect come September when the 2020/2021 school year gets underway.
Education Minister Stephen Lecce and Premier Doug Ford have unveiled the plan to get children back into schools in a few months and it involves a regional approach.
It will be similar the reopening of the economy, which has left some areas -such as Toronto - in stage one, while other areas with low case numbers were able to reopen more businesses.
Ford says they will be working with individual school boards over the summer and each region's school boards reopening will look different.
Ford says options will include in-class learning, at home learning, and/or a mix of both.
Lecce says there will be a cap at 15 students per class, and kids will have the same teacher throughout the day.
He says by having a single teacher it help with contact tracing.
Lecce says a student will be placed in a cohort - or a group of 15 children - to allow students to interact with each other, but still being kids.
Lecce says the 15-student cohort groups will allow students to play together, eat together, and even give each other high-fives.
Lecce says after September school boards will have more freedom if COVID cases remain low.
There are 72 school boards across Ontario.
Schools across the province have been closed since March 13th.
Earlier this week, a group of experts at SickKids released their recommendations for children to return to school in September.
