Niagara Regional Police have identified the remains found in the Welland Canal as that of Quintin Bingley.
Police started searching the Canal in January, and remains were found on the 4th.
The ground search took place in the area between Lock 1 and Lock 2 after that portion of the Canal was emptied of water.
On February 22, 2019 detectives were contacted by the office of the Coroner and learned the identity of the deceased.
The deceased has been identified as Quintin Bingley.
The teen had last been seen May 25th, 2018.
He was set to graduate from Governor Simcoe Secondary School last June.
Foul play is not suspected.
At this time, the Bingley family has requested privacy.
