Toronto police have been called to Yorkdale Shopping Centre after reports of shots fired in the area.
The busy mall with back-to-school shoppers has been evacuated with thousands of people standing outside the building which can be seen from the 401.
Sgt. Frank Partridge says they are dealing with shots being fired and police said they are looking for multiple suspects.
They described one suspect as a male in his 20s who was wearing a black jacket with a hoodie and blue jeans.
A second suspect was described as a skinny male in his 20s, standing around five-foot-nine and carrying a black handgun.
A number of people inside the mall posted messages saying they had taken shelter in stores after shots were fired.
No injuries have been reported so far.
Subway trains are also bypassing Yorkdale Station as police investigate.
Paramedics are assessing 3 people unrelated to gunfire.
