Toronto and Peel Region to move to Stage 2 this Wednesday, but Windsor-Essex will remain in Stage 1 for at least one more week.
Premier Doug Ford made the announcement this afternoon, allowing a longer list of shuttered businesses to reopen including restaurant patios, hair salons and malls.
Windsor-Essex, which is experiencing an outbreak among migrant workers, will be held in Stage 1 for at least another week.
It is the only region in the province that will not move to Stage 2 this week.
Niagara moved into Stage 2 this past Friday.

"Today's announcement is another sign that we continue to make steady progress," said Premier Ford. "We have been working hand-in-hand with our municipal partners and local public health units to safely and gradually reopen the province. We will do everything we can to get our final region, Windsor-Essex, into Stage 2 as soon as possible. That's why we are ramping up testing and inspections on Ontario's farms to protect workers and keep our food supply chains strong and healthy."
