Emergency repairs are underway to a bridge in St.Catharines.
Regional officials tells CKTB part of the bank gave way near the Martindale Road bridge.
The ground is saturated by water as the region continues to receive a month's worth of rain in three days.
The J.R Stork Bridge is situated between Main and Golden on Martindale Road is shut down as officials conduct repairs.
Local residents and emergency services will have access up to the limits of the bridge but will NOT have access across the structure.
A detour route will be posted along Regional Road 87 (Lakeshore Road West), Regional Road 34 (Seventh Street) and Regional Road 40 (South Service Road).
