Brock University says it "regrets the negative impact" a homecoming party had in a Thorold neighbourhood.
Residents took to social media to voice their frustration after about 500 students were celebrating on their street Friday night.
They're calling on the city to introduce new rental bylaws to limit students.
Police say they received only two noise complaints. They broke up the party and two bylaw tickets were issued.
In a statement, Brock says it "does not condone the disruptive actions of any students who took part."
The school says it will be out in the community to talk to neighbours and will also meet with police on Monday to discuss the situation Friday night.
