The Wynne government presents its budget today, with just over two months to go before the June election.
The Liberals have said the budget will run a deficit around $8 billion, the total amount of all the promises the party has made since last weeks throne speech.
University of Waterloo associate professor of economics, Jean-Paul Lam says the fact they have changed course after committing to balance the budget, tells him they have no long term plan right now.
Lam says its clearly a desperate measure to get votes.
Some of the of the Liberal promises include increased health care spending and a plan to bring in free daycare.
The premier announcing the plan yesterday that would make child care free for parents with children who are two and a half years of age until they go to kindergarten.
The proposal will cost over two billion dollars.
