The City of Welland has kicked off 2018 budget deliberations.
Right now the operating budget of $58 million includes an estimated 1.91 percent property tax hike.
The city's Chief Financial Officer Steve Zorbas says the goal is to maintain fiscal responsiblity and core services while minimizing the impact to taxpayers.
Local residetns can weigh in on the budget talks during a public open house Monday, October 30th at city hall starting at 4:00 pm.
