Today is the last day of the unseasonable heat wave, but demands continue by teachers and parents that something be done to help kids beat the heat in class.
Yesterday the Premier got hammered on the issue.
Wynne replying her government has given billions to school boards and it's up to them to buy air conditioners or install cooling stations.
DSBN spokeman Brett Sweeney says the board does not have an official heat policy.
He points out the Occupational Health and Safety Act also does not have a specific temperature regarding heat in classes, nor does Public Health have any regulations for managing a maximum temperature.
Sweeney says they do as much as they can to alleviate the heat in classrooms, such as opening windows, bringing fans in, closing blinds and taking lots of water breaks.
As for declaring a heat day, Sweeney adds its not part of the DSBN policy.
