NDP Official Opposition Leader Andrea Horwath is demanding the Ford government come up with an official COVID-19 emergency response plan.
Horwath noting, "It’s becoming increasingly disturbing that no plan has been communicated to cope with a potential influx of patients, since hospitals are already bursting at the seams."
The party leader adding workers may go to work sick because there is no plan to make it easy for them to stay home.
Horwath is demanding an immediate meeting with Doug Ford to discuss the COVID-19 outbreak and to urge him to publish an emergency response plan.
But the feds are stepping up their response today.
An announcement is expected this morning about Ottawa's plans to help Canadians navigate the tough economic times caused by the COVID-19 outbreak.
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is scheduled to unveil the initiatives aimed at helping workers, employers and provincial health systems.
