A campaign flyer sent out by a local candidate running for re-election is raising some eyebrows.
The Review reporting the Niagara Police Association is taking exception with some of the claims made by Niagara Falls regional councillor and police board chair Bob Gale.
Police Association President Cliff Priest tells the paper some the facts on the flyer are not factual.
Gale boasts about his accomplishments including bringing in a police budget this year that saw an increase of less than 10 percent.
But Priest says it's not true, noting while the budget hikes have decreased, it's only because the police service has run deficits since 2016.
Gale says while he has made mistakes the board has done a great job, adding if the assocation has issues they can bring it to the board.
