The record-breaking high water levels of Lake Ontario won’t stop fireworks from lighting up the sky in Port Dalhousie on Canada Day.
The Port Dalhousie Lions Club announcing last month it had to cancel its annual Canaday Day carnival in Lakeside Park due to due to safety concerns associated with the record water levels in Lake Ontario, but confirmed the fireworks show would still go on.
The Lions Club now confirming it will set off its annual Canada Day fireworks this year from Henley Island.
The fireworks display starts at 10 p.m.
Access to Henley Island will be closed during the fireworks show.
Residents can view the fireworks from Rennie Park, Jaycee Park and the surrounding area. Admission is free. A rain date is set for Sunday, July 2 at 10 p.m.
