Officials have named the next president and CEO of the Canada Games Council.
The CGC unanimously approved the recommendation from the selection committee to name Dan Wilcock to the position.
Originally from Australia, Wilcock is an accomplished athlete and a lawyer who has represented the federal government around the world, including at the United Nations.
After competing in a plethora of sports, he specialized in snowboarding and even represented Australia as both a competitor and a coach.
Eventually he fell in love with a Canadian and immigrated.
The Canada Games are coming to Niagara in August of 2021, drawing athletes from across the country to the region to compete in everything from rowing and swimming to biking.
