A Toronto hospital says the man they were treating for a novel coronavirus spreading around the world has been discharged.
Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre says the man's status has continued to improve to the point where he no longer needs to be in hospital.
They say the hospital and Toronto Public Health will continue to monitor the patient and his wife -- who also has the new virus -- as they remain in isolation at home.
The novel coronavirus -- from the same family of viruses that cause SARS, MERS and the common cold -- has infected thousands around the world and killed more than 200 people in China.
