Money issues are forcing a merger of the country's two biggest cancer charities.
The Globe and Mail reporting the Canadian Cancer Society and the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation will join together
The two charities account for about 10 per cent of the 500 million that goes to cancer research.
But they've been struggling in recent years.
Donations have dropped.
The Globe reports the Canadian Cancer Society saw revenue plunge by 16 per cent over the last few years and revenues at the Breast Cancer Foundation were down by a full third.
The paper says as a result of the merger there will be staff cuts, no word yet on how many workers will be let go.
It's meant less spending on everything from research to donating wigs for patients.
