Two of Canada's biggest airlines are facing mounting criticism over their handling of COVID-19 precautions, with some customers reporting a lack of adherence to mask usage by passengers and airport staff.
Maureen Isabel Green flew from Vancouver to Fredericton three weeks ago with Air Canada to visit her family.
The 31-year-old says she was shocked at the lax use of masks by both airport employees and the passengers on her two connecting flights.
Customers are also expressing concern about the airlines' elimination of physical distancing policies, which left middle seats unoccupied to provide more space between passengers.
Both Air Canada and WestJet suspended those policies on July 1st.
Meanwhile, a new poll shows 72 per cent of Canadians are not comfortable flying with the two airlines now that they have suspended their distancing rules.
Only 22 per cent said they would be comfortable flying under those circumstances.
