Canada's military says it's pushing ahead with improvements to its transgender policy, as the U-S armed forces move in the other direction.
President Donald Trump announced on Twitter yesterday that he's reinstating a ban on trans people serving in uniform.
The announcement cast a spotlight on the Canadian Forces, which lifted its own ban on L-G-B-T members following a court case in 1992.
A post on the Forces' Twitter account reads ``We welcome Canadians of all sexual orientations and gender identities. Join us!''
Meantime, demonstrators gathered in New York City and San Francisco to protest Trump's ban on transgender troops.
Several hundred people flocked to a military recruitment station in Times Square, holding signs saying ``Resist!''
Hundreds more gathered at Harvey Milk Plaza, named for a San Francisco gay-rights icon.
