A Canadian astronaut says his readjustment to life on Earth is going well.
David Saint Jacques returned to terra firma last week after spending 204 days aboard the ISS, setting a Canadian record for the longest single spaceflight.
During a Canada Day celebration in Ottawa, Saint Jacques addressed the crowd via video link from the Johnson Space Centre in Houston.
"Going through readpatation to life on Earth and a bunch of medical tests every day, and I can't wait to come back to Canada. Already feeling great having come back to Earth, that's the first step, and then coming back to Canada next week."
Over the weekend he also posted a picture online showing his daughter laughing while he carries her on his shoulders.
He calls the moment 'an important milestone in his readaptation to gravity.'
